Pure Storage Leads the Enterprise Data Storage Market; Announces a Momentous 2014 with 200 Percent Growth in Customer Base, Additional Funding and New Investors, and Geographic Expansion

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — March 27, 2015 — Pure Storage, the leading independent solid-state array vendor, today announced achievements for 2014, a year in which Pure strengthened its leadership in the enterprise storage market. Pure posted revenue growth of more than 300 percent for the fiscal year ended January 2015.

"Pure Storage is reshaping enterprise data storage," said CEO Scott Dietzen. "Our success this past year is the result of the business transformation we provide customers – making them faster, more efficient and more effective, while simultaneously cutting costs. One customer saved seven figures in two months on inventory management because dramatically faster storage gave them more real time information. Another saved eight figures in their first year by consolidating their database infrastructure by a 1/3 and still improving performance. Today, Pure is in a unique position to cost effectively deliver the performance of flash memory while supporting modern, cloud-oriented data centers and shedding decades of accumulated complexity of antiquated mechanical storage."

In 2014, the market research firm Gartner positioned Pure in the Leaders Quadrant of the inaugural Magic Quadrant for Solid-State Arrays. "A vendor in the Leaders Quadrant has the market share, credibility, and marketing and sales capabilities needed to drive the acceptance of new technologies," according to Gartner. "These vendors demonstrate a clear understanding of market needs; they are innovators and thought leaders; and they have well-articulated plans that customers and prospects can use when designing their storage infrastructures and strategies."

Pure Storage is at the forefront of the market's widespread adoption of all-flash storage technology and the company's innovative approach is disrupting old-school competitors. Pure applies the same flash-based technology used in smartphones and tablets to enterprise storage – and with the same no-manual-required simplicity. The applications for Pure's arrays are widespread: small, medium and large multinational businesses; governments, hospitals, schools and nonprofits all benefit from Pure's simplicity, reliability and affordability. Customers using Pure Storage include Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Skullcandy, Workday,Shutterfly and LinkedIn.
