Prévifrance chooses Pure Storage solutions and boosts employee productivity
Paris, May 31, 2016 -- Pure Storage (NYSE: PSTG), the market's leading independent all-flash array vendor, today announced that Prévifrance, one of the top supplementary health insurance companies in France, has chosen and deployed Pure Storage FlashArray solutions to boost employee productivity and overcome storage bottlenecks.
In 2010, Prévifrance virtualized 99% of its servers with VMware and 95% of its workstations with VMware Horizon. Previfrance’s originally launched its virtualization using hard disk drives, but after time the disk-based systems became saturated, resulting in a degraded environment impacting both production operations and user workstations. Prévifrance decided to switch to All-Flash array and after extensive research and a proof of concept, Prévifrance chose Pure Storage’s All-Flash array.
“We felt confident we made the right technical choice, and that the benefits promised were real and the solution achieved a better rate of data reduction. This point is essential when calculating the cost per usable GB. Pure Storage performed impressively according to every criteria, and made our decision very easy to make,” said Loïc Magnagnon, who is in charge of technical support at Prévifrance.
Prévifrance switched all its virtualized workstations, the transactional servers, and the servers hosting the databases to the Pure Storage FlashArray. The insurer has achieved a data reduction rate of 5.8.
Thanks to the ease of use of Pure Storage solutions, Prévifrance installed the FlashArray and was totally operational in less than 3 hours. This implementation was done without alerting their employees; however, their spontaneous and positive feedback about the performance of their virtual workstations confirmed that the insurer’s technical staff had made the right choice. Slow performance, every day and every week, has become a thing of the past, and the time taken to process certain particularly complex batch processes has been reduced by ten.
“The management team, which also uses the same information system, was convinced that Pure Storage was the right choice, even before we presented our conclusions. Finding internal funding approval was very easy.” explained Loïc Magnagnon.
The Forever Flash program was the last selling point that closed the deal for Previfrance’s IT staff. This Pure Storage maintenance program includes software upgrades and regular hardware upgrades that help to keep the FlashArray in the vanguard of technology. Over the next few months, Prévifrance will continue to migrate additional business applications to the 100% Pure Storage All-Flash storage array.
