Typically, reserve commits reduce costs. The longer the commitment, the larger the cost savings. Contract terms are 1 year, 3 year, and on-demand. The most expensive option is the on-demand rate, which has no commitment.

Azure Managed Disks have the ability to be Locally Redundant (LRS) or Zone Redundant (ZRS). We are basing calculations using a LRS configuration.

Used to determine rate of change when using Azure Standard Snapshots (Locally Redundant Storage)

Pure's average data reduction ratio is on average greater than 4:1. This is accomplished through the data services of the Purity Operating Environment by employing multiple strategies: compression, deduplication, pattern removal, thin provisioning, and space-efficient snapshots. This results in an overall smaller footprint for data when on Pure Cloud Block Store relative to native offerings and ultimately lower cost.
