Pure Storage Wins 2013 American Technology Award from TechAmerica Foundation

FlashArray Takes Top Honors for Breakthrough Innovation in the Server and Storage Category

Mountain View, CA – June 21, 2013 — Pure Storage, the all-flash enterprise storage company, today announced that it has been honored by TechAmerica Foundation as the winner of this year's American Technology Awards (ATAs) in the Server and Storage Technology category. The Pure Storage FlashArray was recognized for its innovative approach to enterprise data storage, which offers the power, performance and efficiency of an all-flash array for less than the cost of mechanical disk. Winners of the ATAs are selected based on a thorough evaluation by industry experts and technology leaders; the awards were presented at TechAmerica's annual Technology and Government gala dinner in Washington, D.C. on June 20th.

"This year's Server and Storage category was full of wonderful products and was highly competitive. The team at Pure Storage deserves the credit and recognition of an American Technology Award for their outstanding work," said Shawn Osborne, Chairman of the TechAmerica Foundation. "We congratulate and thank them for their contribution to the growth and innovation of our vibrant industry."

Pure Storage pioneered the all-flash enterprise storage array category in 2009, with a vision to disrupt the status quo of the established market by delivering the innumerable benefits of flash technology at a price point the mainstream could afford. With FlashArray, the company was first to successfully drive the cost of all-flash storage below the price of performance disk, effectively upending the economics of enterprise data storage. For more than three years, Pure Storage has been delivering a breakthrough storage experience that meets the resiliency, scalability, efficiency and performance requirements of enterprise customers of all sizes in diverse markets and for a variety of applications, like virtual desktop infrastructure, database and server virtualisation, among others.

"Pure Storage was founded on with a very specific purpose in mind: to make enterprise grade all-flash data storage accessible to, and prolific in, the mainstream," said Scott Dietzen, CEO of Pure Storage. "This award further validates that our technology is addressing the pains and challenges of legacy disk-based storage solutions and is delivering a fundamentally better experience for our customers, regardless of their size, application or industry. We're are honored to be recognized by TechAmerica for our efforts to deliver a breakthrough data storage experience for our customers in the government sector and beyond."

The TechAmerica ATA victory is one of many awards recently bestowed on Pure Storage: in May, Network Products Guide honored the company for its groundbreaking technology, naming it a gold winner in the "Best New IT Hardware Company" category and a bronze winner in the "Best Storage Solutions" category. The company was also named one of the Bay Area's Best Places to Work by the San Francisco Business Times, and a 2013 AlwaysOn OnDemand 100 Top Private Company.
