As a result, customers across a wide range of sectors are reaping the benefits of new, highly innovative approaches that have resulted in the creation of an ‘AI beer’, a government AI initiative, and huge production increases at one customer.
Customer Challenge
As a solutions provider, Aixia focuses on the delivery of products, solutions, and expertise in AI and machine learning, among other technologies, to address core enterprise infrastructure challenges. A pioneer in the nascent field of applied AI, Aixia recognised the potential of AI to revolutionise customer production environments and support impactful AI projects.
While Aixia developed expertise in how to handle the computing challenges AI brings, the company turned to Pure Storage’s AI-ready platform to deliver the performance needed to deal with the massive throughput necessary to run GPUs for AI, along with the requirement for exceptionally fast data flow and processing.
Customer Impact and Key Benefits
Aixia leverages the Pure Storage AIRI® (AI-ready Infrastructure) in its own data centre, through which it helps customers rapidly deploy highly impactful solutions to run applied AI. Key projects include:
- The production of an ‘AI beer’: Aixia worked with Swedish brewer Ocean Beer to help produce a low alcohol beer with the help of AI. Demonstrating the creativity and efficiencies that AI can drive, Aixia digitised the brewer’s existing recipe catalogue, compared against statistics on beer sales to identify consumption and taste profiles, and then used generative AI to produce recipes for the beer. AIRI technology was fundamental in the development of the AI beer. Aixia’s AI Infrastructure is based on Nvidia DGX-systems, which it pairs with Pure Storage FlashBlade®. FlashBlade, with its “blisteringly fast” speed, is a crucial enabler for Aixia, allowing it to deliver AI based solutions to its customers on time.
- A 275 percent increase in production: One customer that manufactures USBs, was able to increase production from 40,000 to 150,000 units per week while retaining the same levels of quality control through an applied AI solution delivered as-a-service utilising AIRI .
- A highly successful partnership with AI Sweden, a government body whose mission is to accelerate the use of AI for the benefit of society and national competitiveness. As a core technology partner, Aixia provides the technology to run all the organisation’s projects. AI Sweden has found AIRI particularly useful for large training projects and the development of large language models, which have resulted in successful deployments in public sector organisations, with use cases including legal advice and customer support. It’s become the standard for the delivery of all AI projects.
- For customers in the automotive industry, Pure Storage and Aixia jointly design and implement a solution on the NVIDIA DGX platform for Zensact , a joint-venture of Volvo Cars and Autoliv. AIRI’s speed and performance was critical to Aixia’s ability to deliver a highly successful project that exceeded customer expectations. A second, similar project has been successfully implemented for another automotive customer.
