Staines, UK – November 5, 2025 — Pure Storage® (NYSE: PSTG), the IT pioneer that delivers the world’s most advanced data storage technology and services, announced today that The Access Group (Access), one of the largest UK-headquartered business management software providers, is building resiliency into its global Software as a Service (SaaS) footprint with the Pure Storage platform. The reliability and scalability in the Pure Storage platform enabled Access to standardise its data environment, comprising 30,000 virtual machines (VMs) and 100,000 databases, without interrupting its diverse application landscape.
More significantly, the partnership with Pure Storage enables Access to focus on building an Enterprise Data Cloud that scales effortlessly and supports the company’s business growth into new areas such as AI.
Customer challenge
Access provides solutions that empower more than 160,000 small and mid-sized organisations across Europe, USA and APAC. Its innovative cloud solutions and integrated AI software experience across multiple Access products transform how business technology is used. Access has grown by merger and acquisition, and every new company it brings in has its own IT systems. This led to a highly complex IT environment with equipment and software from multiple vendors.
Customer data is the most critical asset for Access whose systems support millions of users around the world, such as tax payments in Australia and the UK; payroll for the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK; and electronic payments in the US. Three years ago, the company embarked on a program to consolidate and standardise its IT infrastructure, including a redesign of its global data center architecture. The company made the decision to work with Pure Storage as its global tier one storage provider, not only for the performance and reliability of its infrastructure solutions but also because Pure Storage demonstrated the ability to meet Access’ existing and future requirements.
Customer impact
Access’ decision to standardise on the Pure Storage platform has yielded numerous benefits that have translated to business outcomes. The most important of which is its ability to have full control over critical data assets including navigating data sovereignty across the geographies that they operate in.
Additional benefits include:
- Real-time visibility: With FlashArray™ powering critical workloads and Pure1® providing real-time visibility, the IT team can access, manage and control all its data assets across the world.
- Virtualisation without limits: Pure Storage’s deep integration with VMware has enabled Access to effortlessly manage more than 30,000 VMs in addition to its wide range of diverse and often aging applications.
- Reliable uptime for mission-critical workloads: The resilience and reliability of the Pure Storage platform has been especially important for the mission-critical workloads that Access runs for its healthcare customers where any downtime can be life-threatening.
Looking to the future
As Access moves from infrastructure modernization to digital transformation, the Pure Storage platform is laying the foundation for its AI ambitions. The company was able to successfully introduce a new AI service called Access Evo and is now looking to build out an enterprise data cloud strategy with Pure Fusion™, Pure Storage Cloud and Portworx®.
