Melbourne, Australia – August 15, 2016 – Pure Storage (NYSE:PSTG), the market’s leading independent solid-state array vendor, today announced that Australian sport shoe wholesaler and clothing retailer Texas Peak has selected Pure Storage FlashArray to help drive its business through a high growth phase of 10-15 percent per year.
Texas Peak supplies major sports brand Brooks to Australian and New Zealand retail outlets including Rebel Sport, Athlete’s Foot and Active Feet. The company selected Pure Storage to drive efficient customer service and quick response times. Pure has helped Texas Peak reduce its data storage requirements by more than 60 per cent, providing rapid insights and access to data, eliminating delays which led to lost time and revenue. Rapid growth caused Texas Peak’s storage utilisation to jump from 30 percent capacity to almost 100 percent over five years, so the company required fully scalable, stable and high performing storage to match the business growth.
“We were attracted to Pure because of its core based on fast, agile flash technology. Flash is highly appealing because there are no moving parts, which means there’s nothing that can fail,” said Wayne Nikolovski, IT Manager at Texas Peak. Pure partnered with Southern Cross, who has been providing services to Texas Peak for the last ten years, and determined that the Pure FlashArray would be the most suitable option to drive Texas Peak through a period of rapid growth.

Since deploying Pure, Texas Peak has enjoyed improved performance through reduced back up times and faster reporting processes, with a 10x reduction in storage latency. The implementation has allowed Texas Peak to operate its servers for longer periods of time, providing a greater return on investment for the company.
“The most remarkable feature was the system’s ability to restore to back up and concurrently test at the same time. The Pure Storage array didn’t lose any performance whatsoever,” said Nikolovski.
Another key reason Pure Storage has been an uncontended choice for Texas Peak is its security, enabling the business to provide better, faster and safer customer service.
