The quest for greater performance at the lowest cost pushed Cdiscount to choose Pure Storage FlashArray solutions
Paris – November 9, 2015 – Pure Storage (NYSE:PSTG), the market’s leading independent solid-state array vendor, announced today that Cdiscount, the number one ecommerce website in France has chosen and deployed Pure Storage FlashArray solutions to support its double digit growth. To cope with its development, the retailer has to regularly bring in a significant number of engineers to develop urgent, specific projects. As this influx cannot always be foreseen, Cdiscount decided to set up a Microsoft HyperV virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) deployment as economically as possible and supported this choice with 100% Flash storage Flash Array from Pure Storage.
Cdiscount’ software developers now have the necessary means to focus on their missions, with high-performance virtualised desktops immediately available. Indeed, the latency is less than 1 ms, maximizing engineering productivity, and the data reduction rate is 10 to 1, which saves them storage and data center space. The ease-of-installation of Pure Storage solution – demonstrated by its business card sized instruction manual – allowed minimal involvement of Cdiscount IT teams when deploying Pure Storage FlashArray in October 2014. Reliability is also on the agenda as, after one year of use, the availability time reaches 100 percent despite several non-disruptive updates, offered without extra charge by Pure Storage.
