Go Do Good

At Pure Good, our mantra is “Go Do Good”. Through projects locally and globally, we’re empowering our employees and nonprofit partners to build a better world.

Our Story

Pure Good Foundation was started in 2015 by a small group of Pure Storage employees who saw a need in the community and knew that they could help make a difference. That year, a few months before Pure Storage went public, over 80% of Pure's workforce voted to approve the creation of the Pure Good Foundation with a portion of each individual's stock shares. We are continually proud to be a foundation seeded by employees – and work each day to make a lasting impact in honor of their generosity.

Today, the Foundation divides its efforts across three areas:

  • Investing In Innovation. – Innovation is a core value of Pure Storage, and by extension the Foundation invests in innovative solutions to pressing problems facing youth.
  • Global Interest Grants. – Focused on our core value of teamwork, we fund Pure Storage teams of five or more employees in support of initiatives of their choosing, and may include grants to fundraise for other organizations, undertake team-building activities, or provide direct community assistance.
  • Hands On Volunteerism. – Pure Good pairs Pure Storage employees with youth and education-based organizations that are local to where they live and work across the globe. We match needs identified by these organizations and appropriate skill sets among Pure employees.

Helping At-Risk Youth Succeed

Pure Good supports the transformative power of education-based initiatives that drive quality learning opportunities for disadvantaged youth in the communities where Pure Storage employees live and work. Through volunteerism, support for innovative best practices, and grantmaking, we believe that our investments can launch real-life opportunities while building lifelong relationships with tomorrow’s workforce.

We review inquiries throughout the year and award grants on a rolling basis. If your organization engages with youth or education and you believe you’d be a good fit for Pure Storage employee volunteerism – or if you have an innovative project that needs support – please reach out to Nicole Johnson with a brief description of your proposal. If it fits within the foundation’s guidelines, we’ll invite you to submit a formal application.

PureService4Good pairs one-of-a-kind leadership development for teams of Pure Storage employees with an immersive service project internationally. A partnership between Pure Good and Team4Tech, PureService4Good produces transformative first-hand experiences in global aid – for all involved.

Check out our recent visit to work with the LEAP schools in Cape Town, South Africa.

In rural Alaska, our teams worked with the community and local school district to update technology offerings for both the educators and students.  We are excited to continue working with rural school districts across the U.S. so that all students have the same growth opportunities as those from urban districts.

In addition to bringing new classroom tech to an after-school STEM program for K-12 students living in Vietnamese orphanages, our teams also helped establish an Innovation Hub for students aging out of the orphanages to continue developing career readiness skills.
