Enterprise data environments are more complex than ever, and traditional storage just can't keep up. That's why Peer's Enterprise Data Cloud, powered by an intelligent control plane, changes the entire game. It unifies block, file and object storage into a single API-driven platform,
00:19
eliminating silos and manual management. With built-in automation from Pier one and fusion. It provisions storage based on policy and not scripts, making operations faster, smarter, and fully under your control. Let's jump into looking at how workflow orchestration is possible with the enterprise
00:39
data cloud. Let's start on the left hand side of the interface under projects. This is what a recipe looks like. Recipes like the one we see here aren't just task templates. They represent declarative workflows that respond dynamically to business needs.
00:55
This recipe includes recipe functions, which means the same logic can be reused across workflows. It's an example of how we reduce manual scripting in favor of flexible, policy-driven automation. The first step in this workflow is the Service now integration, which acts as the trigger.
01:12
Once an incident is created, the intelligent control plane kicks in and the workflow is automatically initiated. You can follow the process by selecting the business SLA, clicking into the workflow, and inspecting the payload and output. That confirms that the incident triggered the automation.
01:30
As the workflow progresses, several actions take place automatically. First, it retrieves the fusion trace, then calls the placement recommendation engine, and finally, it creates the required volume for the workload on the resource array. You'll notice this initiates the fusion preset retrieval, captures the preset name, and from there, posts a confirmation message to Slack, and also updates the Service now ticket.
01:54
It then queries the placement recommendation API to determine the optimal array. It returns the best fit array, and the workflow proceeds to create the workload. Here in the array UI you can see the SQL workload that has been automatically provisioned with volumes, protection groups, and tags, all created as a part of this policy-driven workflow.
02:20
So the next steps include mounting the volume, connecting the host, and setting up the SQL database. I'm not going to spend time going into every step here, but let's take a look at the new SQL database that has been created through this workflow. You can go to SQL, query the database, and you'll see that the new Fusion 82 database has
02:43
just been created as a result of this workflow. With the database in place, the workflow now leverages Pure Protect to enable local replication. Again, fully orchestrated through the intelligent control plane in Pier One. This includes everything from creating a protection policy to ensuring integrated
03:01
governance and compliance by design. And to close the loop, we communicate back through the initiating owner's preferred channels. Here, it's via Slack, and the ServiceNow ticket is updated at every step. This is how automation, when driven by an intelligent control plane,
03:18
turns traditional infrastructure tasks into a responsive, business aligned service layer.
