C There's an accessory kit, there's the bezel and then you have direct flash modules and blades underneath. So the accessory kit just has power cables and then a quick install guide. So this is a completely redesigned bezel for our new five U chassis which is bigger than the old one that was for you. But you want to know the best part what the

logo on the bezel finally lights up. Can we light it up now? Yeah, but we first have to put the rest of the modules together. Can you help me with one of these blades? Here you go. So, Flash blade? S has a completely new blade design with

updated Cpus, more memory and faster networking. We now have two blade models called S 200 and S 500 which differ in the level of performance that they enable. The other big difference is that storage is now modular. There's four slots for direct flash modules to plug into. These are our direct flash modules.

There's 10 of them in a box and then four boxes inside this, so that's a total of 40 drives in a chassis or 2.5 times the amount of raw nand in a single system. We still use direct flash, but with this upgrade we have disaggregated computing storage and here's the all new flash blade? S chassis. The one thing folks will notice right away is

that there is now 10 blades as opposed to 15. Each of the blades can house one through four of our direct flash modules And you can fill them with as much as 200 terabytes of raw flash at launch and then add more performance via adding additional blades. But a really cool thing that we unlocked through this is independent upgrades for both the compute and the storage part. So let's say you're running your blade and

something goes wrong on the blade, you can now pull out your storage, pull out the blade swap in a new blade, stick your storage back in and your back up and running. Hey holly, let's take a look at the rear of the chassis. This looks familiar. I notice it's still a dual file active active design.

Whoa, wait, how do you know all of this? My mom talks about it all the time. Yeah, so totally let's keep going. So active active fabric modules and a high band with ssL that goes between them for the next level of resiliency. Now each blade is connected to every fabric module via 50 gig connection and that goes through a passive mid plane but with future proof that as well for the next generation of

technology, you see we have 800 gig ports on each of the fabric modules and each of these ports can be run at 140 25 or tens. There's also one gig out of band management and installation ports on the back of each fabric module. Let me guess. you got this. There's four power supplies at the base of the chassis which are an N plus two power configuration. So the cooling and the fan design has been re architected from the ground up to be able to deliver this massive scale in performance and capacity while keeping all of the component tree cool and running smoothly.

That sounds great for the environment, but with all this extra bandwidth, how big can this thing get? So, flash blade s can be expanded up to 10 chassis is where each chassis has 10 blades and each blade has four drives each. So that's a massive amount of skill and performance within a single name space By building a simple appliance and being able to scale this,

we keep all of the cables at a minimum and we scale really simply and super fast. So wait 40 drives per chassis, 10 chassis that would be 400 drives in one system, yep.
