Let's see how easy it is to create a pure fleet. We'll start off by looking at our LDAP configuration to make sure it's set up correctly by clicking users and policies, array management, LDAP. Then click the test button. If the light turns green, we're good.
00:21
We'll click on fleet, create a new fleet, and give the fleet a name. We'll click on create fleet, and we will have a pure fleet of one array. We'll go ahead and create a new fleet key to create a second array. We'll go to FlashArray2 and join an existing fleet; put in the fleet name and paste the fleet key. Then we'll click on join a fleet.
00:57
We'll continue on to add a third array, creating a new fleet key. Copy the key. Go to FlashArray3, join an existing fleet. Enter the fleet name and paste the fleet key. Click on join a fleet.
01:14
You have now successfully created a pure fleet of three arrays. Congratulations. Now let's remote provision a volume in the fleet. We'll start off by going to storage. And we'll take a look at the hosts. You'll see that you have an option for a fleet view. We'll click on volumes and you'll see the same.
01:40
You'll see that you have FlashArray1 and Flash Array2 volumes. We'll click the plus key, give the volume a name. Put in a size. Now you have the option of selecting three options: placement, target, potter volume group, or host or host group.
02:01
We'll pick the placement target of FlashArray 2. You have other options that are available depending on what you've picked above. Go ahead and click create. The volume has been successfully created. We'll now go over to FlashArray2, click on volumes, and you will see the FlashArray2
02:20
volume created. Now we'll create a simple preset and deploy a workload. We'll start off by going to storage presets and create your first preset. We'll put in a preset name. Give it a short description.
02:55
Go over and select the workload type, which is the type of workload you'd like to pre-select. From the list. And the class, which will be a FlashArray X. We'll go ahead and put the name of the storage in along with the number of volumes we'd like to create. And then the size, and we'll click on Add to Preset.
03:22
We could create, and now the preset has been created. We'll click on Workloads. Click on Fleet View. You'll see all of the workloads that have been defined in the fleet. We'll select Preset. Give the workload a name.
03:51
And now select a placement target. Which hooray would we like this to go on? We can also ask. Pier One to give us a recommendation. Click on Create Workload. As you can see, the workload has now been created on FlashArray 2.
