At pure storage, the opportunity for change and our commitment to a sustainable future are a direct reflection of the way we've always operated and the values we live by every day that includes the planning process in creating experiences like this year's pure accelerate tech fest 22 by embracing an outdoor festival at the L. A. Live rooftop deck.
00:32
We continue our commitment to the planet and its people and that means an event that is all pure for our customers partners and voice sustainability impacts all of us. It is social, it is economic, it is environmental, it is energy conservation and the right kind of energy created when we come together as peers promoting responsible environmental practices.
01:04
Even hybrid events like this year's pure accelerate mean less emissions, less travel less carbon footprint. We are making significant and immediate impact worldwide through our environmental sustainability efforts. The milestones of change can be seen everywhere in everything we do, purist evergreen storage architecture delivers two key environmental benefits to customers,
01:29
the reduction of wasted energy and the reduction of E waste. Additionally, pure implemented a series of product packaging, redesigns promoting recycle and reuse in order to reduce waste that will not only benefit our customers but also the environment Pure is committed to doing what is right and leading the way with innovation that has always been the pure difference making a difference by
01:57
enabling our customers to drive out energy usage and their data storage systems by up to 80% today. More than 97% of pure arrays purchased six years ago are still in service And tomorrow our goal for the future is to reduce scope three emissions. Pure is committing to further reducing our sold products emissions by 66% per petabyte by 2030. All of this means what we said
02:25
at the beginning change, that is simple and that is what it has always been about. Pure has a vision for the future today. Tomorrow forever. Everyone please welcome chief executive officer Charles Giancarlo. Well, good morning everyone. It's really lovely to see you.
03:10
It's lovely to be with you. Um, as you can tell, um, I think very much now at pure, we're focused on the future. We're focused on, um, uh, you know, on making the world better and you know, the inspiration is right behind me. My family is my first grandchild in my family. Um, and actually the family of everybody at pure and frankly,
03:33
you know, then extended it beyond that. We're really here to help everybody's family be a bit better now. You know, our our Children right are probably going to inherit a world that is um, a bit more challenge than the one that that we inherited, right? And our responsibility is really to enable our Children to have a better world, right? And we're in an industry that's really going to
03:57
be a very fundamental part of making the world a better place right. We're in an industry that is driving big, big data analytics, we're driving education, we're driving healthcare, we're helping the world to be able to create solutions to some of the world's toughest problems. Right? Healthcare, um peaceful coexistence.
04:21
The ability to be able to create environments that allow people to live a better life and you know, our ability to focus and to deliver solutions like this is going to allow, first of all pure to help you in your endeavors to build a better world with the things that you do. And in order to do that we have to lead, right? We have to lead not follow.
04:45
Um and how do we lead? Well for us, it's about building the best products uh that provide the best possible performance and capability while at the same time leaving the world in a better place afterwards. Right. Which we means making them um energy efficient, uh making them space efficient, producing less waste and using less labor. And that's the promise that we're making.
05:08
So I wanna thank you for all for joining us today in this endeavor. I know you've all traveled a long way to be with us. And so the the time and the effort that you've um invested in this is really something that we very much appreciate. I want to thank you. There's over 1000 of you here today. About 8000 joining us virtually,
05:30
which is uh great fun to have all of that. Thank you. You know, pure really, really was founded based on an observation that storage, data storage had fallen into commodity thinking, um you know, our competitors, I think for many years for over over a decade had actually been quite proud to pronounce that data storage was a commodity.
05:57
Um and that the real focus should be on price as long as it meets your uh the level of performance that you need and the features that you need, then at that point they're all the same, it's just on price. Um and that was really good for them in many ways, it meant that they could reduce the amount of R and D. That they spent, they could make it all much
06:19
more profitable in many cases, those vendors were commodity players producing other commodity products, so it allowed them to consolidate what they were doing into fewer, into fewer parts. So that was uh it really drove the entire industry into commodity thinking. And I think that also it created a somewhat of a Stockholm syndrome for our customers.
06:45
Uh customers started to feel that, well, this is the best that it can possibly be, I'm getting it for cheap. Um and so the fact that I'm getting, you know, poor performance, poor reliability, uh poor customer service. Well, this is natural, this is just the way the industry is if, you know, Stockholm syndrome,
07:01
it means that captives, uh you know, start to sympathize with their captors. Um and we really saw that that, you know, if data is the fuel of the future, if data centers are continuing to advance um if we're going to you know advance our ability to be able to analyze that data, then data storage and management has to advance at the same rate as the rest of the industry.
07:29
And so the opportunity to really advance the science really created an opportunity for a company like us. So we recognized and and the insight that we had at first was that solid state storage meaning in our case flash storage really represented a huge opportunity to change this entire environment because we would be going from mechanical two semiconductor to solid state and that meant we could go
07:57
from you know, managing things very mechanically to having software that really changed the way that this system would operate. And we recognize that you know, data was not going to be a commodity, it was going to be a very valuable asset and people had to move forward. I don't think you would be with us today frankly spending your time if you thought that data storage and management was a commodity,
08:21
you realized that it is in fact high technology uh and it has to be advanced, there has to be innovation. So this allows us to really provide products. This insight that it is, high technology allows us to really focus on driving the business forward and it allowed us to lead frankly the industry almost since we got started,
08:44
you know, eight years, you know, at the top of the industry in terms of innovation and today, what I want to tell you is that we're very excited, I have to tell you, I've got some very excited speakers in the green room. They are so excited to talk to you today. In fact, I can hardly hold it back myself. I'd like to give you all the news right now but
09:04
I'm gonna leave some for them because we're really going to be advancing the state of the art today and you're going to see that now there are three things that that uh that really get us very excited. Uh The first I'd say is the cloud operating model, uh we're bringing a lot of our focus is on bringing more and more technology that's going to allow you to operate your data center, your hybrid cloud environment more like the
09:33
hyper scale. Urz the second is that, you know, we're going to bring solutions to you that are easy, uh simple, they're the right solution today. They'll be the right solution for you tomorrow. And in fact they'll be the right solution to to you for you next year and next decade we're gonna talk to you about Evergreen and how our
09:54
systems never get old. And then finally and last but certainly not least we're going to bring you forever the best customer experience in the I. T. World with a strong partner ecosystem and that's something that we're very dedicated to and so what we're really here to say is that we're here to um to fix everything. That's wrong with the data storage industry,
10:21
were we want to deliver to you the best experience, the easiest, the lowest operating cost, uh The greenest and you know you can probably read my mind here. The evergreen ist. Uh So sorry about that. I know it's corny but we're gonna bring you the evergreen ist for sure. Alright. Um so actually I want to take, I want to do a
10:41
sidebar. How many of you in the audience are primarily focused. Maybe not so much on the technology but on the business bottom line, on operational efficiency. Can I get a show of hands who's focused on the bottom line? Okay great. I want to talk to you for a second. What?
10:59
Why should you worry about data storage? Uh You know because isn't it all the same? Right. Uh Isn't it the case that um you know it is a commodity business, right? One vendor is is as good as another. Um And shouldn't you just leave it to the engineers, Right? Because really it's the processing of the data, don't you think?
11:22
Well what if I told you that cures products are products the only products in the industry that never get old now by the way I wish that I could subscribe to this. I wish I had an evergreen subscription to my life. Um There's a reason I wear a hat. Right? So um I wish I could get an automatic hardware upgrade to give me a full head of hair.
11:44
Unfortunately that doesn't work. But it's pure, you know, we have sold products for 10 years. We have products that we sold 10 years ago. And if you were, it's still in service today, but not just it's not a 10 year old product that's still in service. It's a product that looks like our current model or maybe our current model minus one today.
12:05
You know, not only software upgrade hardware upgrades without ever having taken the application environment down without ever doing a data migration um without disrupting the customer environment, right? It's like, you know, driving to work and you find out when you get out of the car having not stopped that it's a new car. It's really almost, you know, a magic
12:28
capability. Um This is something that no other, no one else does in the industry. So wouldn't this reduce your long term costs and your overall risk to your business? Alright, So let me what if I told you for the people again that are really focused on the bottom line that we provide, you know, very flexible pricing everything from 100% Capex.
12:54
So you buy it, you own it to 100% op X where we own it and you use it and only you only pay us for what you use and then and you'll see today options in between uh you know, complete flexibility in terms of the way that you might own it, you know, doesn't this give you a lot of financial flexibility? Let me ask you, do you have shareholders and maybe even employees and customers asking you,
13:21
you know about E S G, about what you're doing for the environment and what's your environmental footprint? What if I told you that pure is delivering products that first of all compared to two disc use 1/10 of the power space and cooling. And even compared to competitors, all flash products use up to 80% less power and cooling and
13:44
often about a half of the floor space and e waste of competitive products. Is this going to help you in your E S. G. Journey? You know? I think so. So, you know, for pure we go beyond just technology for technologists, we can help the actual bottom line. All right now,
14:03
for those of you that have, you know, big um digital transformation goals, what if I told you that it's pure that's leading in terms of developing the technology and the road map for delivery for allowing you to operate your data centers, your private cloud, your hybrid cloud, the way that hyper scale Urz operate. There's not just in terms of saving costs and operations, but enabling you to deliver to
14:29
your internal developers a more flexible operation. You know, wouldn't your internal developers wouldn't your company benefit by having that more flexible, more agile environment I think so. Right so you know these are the things that we're very much focused on as we go forward but probably more important than anything else. And certainly the most important thing we do in
14:52
the company is make our customers happy. And what if I told you that we had not only the highest net promoter score you know in um in our industry but frankly in almost all uh B two B industries you know we have the top 1% score in net promoter score and this is a third party measured across every element of the way customers interact with us. Uh would you rather be treated to first class upgrade to first class rather than flying coach
15:22
or in some cases baggage uh service. Alright so we really want to be your best provider of technology, the best economic provider, the best environmental provider as we go forward. So really what we're trying to say is we wanna uncomplicated data storage for you forever and not just for your I. T. Team for your finance organization,
15:45
for your all of your stakeholders that you have inside the company including your developers and in frank and in fact you know by environmental footprint you know even your um your your customers that and as well as your investors who look at that every announcement we have today is going to be along these lines. And it's why why we were, how we were founded, what we're focused on. Um and in order to do this,
16:15
it takes a lot of investment will invest about 20% of revenue um in R. And D. This year in an industry that on average, spends less than 5% you know, having managed very large R. And D. Centers before, you can barely keep the lights on at 5% you can barely keep up with the next rev of of of chips of processors,
16:37
of flash, uh and S. S. D. S that come out. So unless a company is willing to invest this amount, they're never going to be able to lead. And this it really creates the situation that I've talked about over the last few weeks, which is pure just plays a very different game than our competitors are competitors decided long ago that storage was a commodity. And they've built their entire business model
17:02
around commodity pure looks at storage. And we say this is high technology, it has to advance at the same pace as the rest of the high technology industry. And we invest accordingly. All right, so today we're gonna talk about um four major trends, uh and this is based on where we're investing. You know,
17:23
our our funds as we go forward. Um, you know, and by the way, it's not just investment, it's the overall quality of your R. And D. Staff of your company in terms of moving forward with technology because, you know, technologists, engineers, they're smart people, they know how much it takes to invest in order to build a leadership
17:43
product. And if you don't quite invest at that level, they leave, they go elsewhere. They engineers like anybody else wanna win. Uh And because they wanna win, they want to go to a place that is investing seriously where they know that they can win. So the first of these major trends that we're focused on is the cloud operating model.
18:04
You know, we introduced subscription services with Evergreen almost since our founding and that was years ago um you know, and Evergreen provided a true subscription service. So if you subscribe to, you know, some kind of SAS service um whether it's Dropbox or anything else, you know, you subscribe to the service and it consistently gets better. Um And of course behind the scenes they're replacing the hardware,
18:30
that replacing the software, but there's no disruption to you write, it just keeps getting better over time. Well we did the same thing for the first time, you know, on prem just keeps getting better um You know with the subscription. Uh And you don't have to worry about disruption during that process. Um And it was the first step if you will to sass if i a customer experience,
18:53
you know, in a equipment business, you know to be direct, right? It was it was a full equipment business, but we gave a sas kind of of of experience with it. The second step was was with something that formerly known as Pure as a service. Uh You'll see that's been renamed today. Pure as a service took that concept and said,
19:14
well, instead of you owning it, we'll own it, we'll manage it. Um and now you get all the benefits of a service level agreement for data storage and management, uh but you don't have to pay upfront. Right, sas ification again, But of something that's on on prem, well, the next generation of this and to take it to its full realization of a cloud operating
19:37
model um is, you know, something we're calling. Uh I think the industry is starting to call now infrastructure as code. Right? And it's the idea that you can build infrastructure and completely control it, manage it, orchestra, have it be orchestrated, but also offer it than to your internal customers as code. Um So that allows you to have a first of all
20:02
less work in operations, but a faster innovation cycle for your developers and, you know, let's just let's rewind the tape a bit. Why did your developers flock to the cloud, Why they go to the cloud now? If you read a lot of the press, the press is will often say, well, customers want to outsource their data centers, they want to get out of the data
20:27
center business. That's not why developers went to the cloud, developers didn't care about that. What developers cared about is they didn't want to wait four weeks, six weeks, six months for infrastructure, right? If they were developing something new, they needed server capability, they needed data storage, they could go to one of the cloud
20:46
providers plopped down their credit card, um and within a few minutes or maybe an hour to find the infrastructure they needed and get access to it, right? Um And they only paid for what they used. The reason why developers flocked to the cloud was just because they didn't have to wait, right? Uh And they could define exactly what they
21:08
wanted uh and get it within within minutes, this is the capability that we want to bring to you to your private data center uh And capabilities allow you to build an infrastructure that developers can can modify by their code to be what they want when they want it. We want to give you that same capability. You are you define data services that are proprietary to you,
21:34
that meet your compliance, meet your regulatory, meet your price performance requirements that you want to provide and then you provide uh, you know, through through the service that we help you with a P. I. S. To your developers and they get access to it right away. It's gonna make you uh and and by the way,
21:52
those services include things like resiliency, data protection, security, all defined by you as the administrator, but then available as a P I. S to your developers. Now another step along that way is containers and kubernetes. Right. Kubernetes, you know, is the control plane if
22:13
you will. That allows um you know, containers to be automatically orchestrated. And we're very fortunate uh you know, we uh some years ago we acquired a capability called court works. We've continued to invest in it. In fact, you know, today we have something like I think three times the number of uh of developers of,
22:32
you know, marketing sales people involved uh in working with with court works. Um It is the leading capability in the area. It really makes it easy to define data storage and data management services for your developers. It allows them to be consistent consistent across all the applications that you're a wide range of developers are working on, but also consistent across clouds because it works on.
22:59
Prem works in all of the major cloud customers, cloud hyper scale ear's and your so your applications and your data management can be consistent across all of that. And so it actually makes the cloud better because the cloud now is a true multi cloud, true hybrid cloud with greater consistency. And it allows your developers to be accelerated, they don't have to worry about all the details of, you know,
23:25
data storage, data protection, data management replication etcetera. Even um uh even back up these things can be done automatically and from your perspective done consistently see consistently across the enterprise. Okay. And then the next step um is we've now upgraded that capability with something we call pork works.
23:50
Data services, ports works. Data services goes the next step and it says okay, it's not just about data storage but it's about the applications that manage data, things like next generation, no sequel databases, things like like search engines, things like being able to easily bring in data protection, additional data protection capabilities. And it makes it standardized and automatic pre
24:15
configured, secure configured in a way that's secure for you and available again as a P I. S for your developers. Now your developers get access to, you know, a dozen different no sequel databases to these different data protection capabilities without needing a PhD and how to configure all of this and again you get consistency. Um so that's for next generation cloud native, so called cloud native applications.
24:44
What about traditional applications, which is the majority of what you have today? Well, we introduced pure fusion at our last uh accelerate meeting uh Pure fusion is this idea again of completely automating how data storage and data management operates in a multi cloud environment, creating a unified and simple control plane so that instead of data being restricted to individual arrays,
25:12
it now operates as a pool of storage across not just your data center across your cloud of data centers and in fact across the public cloud, your multi cloud of data centers. Um It makes it simple first of all to through policy setting up policy to orchestrate data movement, data migration, data access, uh you know across the data center but also then provides a P. I. S. To your developers, so they get access to it
25:42
through code uh and through a P. I. S. This is the way that we're simplifying your operation of the of your data centers and of your multi cloud environment. Now you put these two things together uh and really what you have is that cloud operating model uh And what I'm really pleased to say is both portrait stated services as well as Pure fusion are available today. We made them g a just a couple of weeks ago and
26:09
I do want to thank there are a number of you in the audience, a number of our customers who really helped us uh in terms of def finding the first versions of these products as they came out, guided us on our journey. We really want to thank you. It really helped. It's very helpful and I know for you it's really allowing you to start to automate your
26:30
your operation and so pleased that we could work with you on this. Alright, so next is um the next, can we go to next slide please? Thank you. Thank you. Um as we continue down the path of automating. Really what we wanna do is be able to completely uncomplicated your world and uncomplicated the world for developers as
26:54
well. We want data storage and management to be a available to your developers as a service uh and allow them to get access um uh as a P. I. S. And really enable this cloud operating model to exist not just in individual hyper scale Urz but for you to operate in the very very same way. Okay. That's not all.
27:17
The second step that we're taking. The second major message is creating the all flash data center. Why is that important? Well as I mentioned before, mechanical hard disk is holding you back from modernization. It's a mechanical product, solid state. You know, typewriters. Not as good as pcs in terms of writing a
27:38
document right? It's pretty straightforward uh tying a bunch of of typewriters together. Doesn't give you a P. C. Okay so being able to go down solid state is going to reduce your footprint your environmental footprint your uh the amount of floor space that you need in your data centers. But it's also going to give you all of these
27:58
other benefits that we talked about. The ability to operate in the cloud operating model, the ability to have higher performance, lower latency and so forth. Now the trouble was everybody loves solid state. The problem was always the cost right? Solid state. Uh It really only penetrated the primary storage market but now with our leadership in the way that we use flash and now with Q.
28:21
L. C. Were able to not only be able to provide the high performance that solid state provides with. The advantages were also now able to compete with disk at the second tier on a price basis. And and that's not even considering T. C. Oh right. The fact that we use less energy and so forth, less labor,
28:43
less power, less cooling, less space. But now, even on a purchase price basis, we're able to compete with uh with standard disk and we're able to do it now, not just with the flash array product with flash array C. But you'll see in a few minutes I'm gonna spill a few beans here. We're gonna be doing it in flash blade as well. So going after um you know,
29:05
unstructured data, which is the largest portion of data still on hard disk. We're going to be able to accelerate that cost reduction, give you all the benefits of solid state. You know, of course we lead with uh in the area of Q. L. C. Why do we lead in that area? Well, we're the only vendor that utilizes raw flash.
29:25
We don't go through S. S. D. S. S. S. D. S. They mimic hard disk. They mimic hard disk because that made it easy for everyone from laptop manufacturers to server manufacturers to storage manufacturers. Uh And in fact even higher hyper scale ear's to leverage the software they had before with hard disk and now use it with flash. The problem is it makes a computer look like a typewriter.
29:50
It makes uh solid state look like a mechanical device because of our the work that we put into QL to flash in the beginning and now Q. L. C. We alone are able to drive those price performance benefits to you. Now there's another benefit that solid state provides that I mentioned which is simplicity, the simplicity of operation.
30:13
You don't need a lot of nerd knobs, you don't need a lot of tuning to be able to tune. Um uh you know a an all flash systems such as such as pure and we have a video that I think you'll you'll enjoy that shows what that simplicity actually means. Let's roll it. I am Richard Cosgrove and yes that is seven year old me in 2012 my dad probably known to
30:51
most of you is caused challenged me to help show how easy and simple it is to install. Pure storage is very first product flash array. So at the office with just a set of instructions and the flash ray system, I went at it Now I am 18 years old and a decade later, Pierre is still hard at work to make things uncomplicated. You were right dad, this is a simple single click deployment of court works.
31:38
Data services do our parents have exceptional Children? We think so, but simplicity and uncomplicated data storage has always been a part of pierre since the very beginning. Pure believes in fostering the advancement of technology for youth through stem organizations like girls start chiquita's.
32:07
We are proud to support these organizations pure advancing the future of tomorrow's workforce and youth today tomorrow and forever. Well, wasn't that fun? Yeah, that was great. I I saw that for the first time yesterday. I I thought thought it was fantastic. Well, you know, we we invested in flash obviously from the beginning we we we customize
32:39
our code, the code was focused right on flash in the beginning. We don't support mechanical. Mechanical couldn't uh, if we try to take us years to modify our code to support mechanical, just like it would take years of our competitors to really support raw flash. So we were the first in primary storage for sand with all flash.
32:59
We were the first for unstructured data for all flash with our, with our flash blade product as you can see, we're the first for secondary storage with Q. L. C replacing magnetic and we beat them, you know, in every respect performance density, um, etcetera. Um, and now we're beating disk as well, especially hybrid arrays on price.
33:25
So it's really moving very much forward. You know, and you know, when you're, when you're comparing us against disk, it really is 10 times 10 times the performance at 1/10 the space power and cooling. So, you know, quite a huge effect on the, on the environment. But now, increasingly with energy costs going up, electricity going costs,
33:46
I spent five weeks in europe and the focus on product that can reduce overall energy costs is absolutely astounding and tremendous. And that really brings us to, you know, efficiency and effectiveness. You know, the it was really our history that has allowed us to lead in this environmental journey. You know, it's, you might say, well,
34:07
it's pure you never really spoke about this in the past. So how is it that all of a sudden we're hearing about this environment? Well, I started to pure almost five years ago, almost from the beginning, you know, as I go in to see customers and, you know, sometimes prospects and I'm speaking, you know, the benefits of our product, I would say, you know,
34:26
one of the big benefits of our product is we use less power, space and cooling, shortest conversation ever. Nobody cared that, you know, they basically said, well that's nice. But somebody else pays for electricity, I could care less. What's your price, you know, what are your features etcetera? Nobody cared well,
34:44
about six months ago, all of a sudden everybody starts caring. So we have been talking about this, but it's just not been a subject that really turned many heads, as I mentioned in europe now, energy costs extraordinarily important as a buying criteria. E S. G, every RFP we get now has E S G as one of their top priorities.
35:07
So this is something that's becoming that's coming our way and it's going to continue to be I think very important for for quite some sometime now. How did we get there? Well, because of our early focus on flash, remember flashes was very expensive in some ways still is compared, you know, for as you go down the ranks of second tier,
35:28
third tier. But because at the very beginning for primary storage it was very expensive. We had to really focus on driving down the overall system cost. And we did that with software by using very um efficient use of flash. We did it by really focusing on data reduction on de duplication. We did it by really reducing the amount of
35:51
common equipment necessary to be able to support a flash system. Well when you do all of that, you use fewer components. If you use fewer components, you're using less energy if and so between the two things automatically, we were a company that was probably wasn't our focus to be more environmentally friendly, but because we focused on using less material,
36:16
um it meant that we were more environmentally friendly. So this has given us again that lead that I spoke of the same lead that allows us to lead in all flash and on using raw flash gives us the lead in environment that I think we're going to retain for many, many years. So um we're going to continue to enhance all of these products that enable us to keep this
36:39
lead everything from purity to our direct flash. Uh and frankly, even our evergreen one subscription formerly known as Pure as a service um that will um which also allows us to recycle these products continuously, further reducing our e waste. And so, you know, our goal with these subscriptions, our goal with as we continue forward with these designs is to really deliver

a more reliable, longer life, lower power system than anybody else in the world. And from that standpoint, nobody else in complicates of sustainability, like like pure. Alright, so if, sorry? Oh yes, one last thing that I wanted to mention um you know,
37:25
years ago we expanded into um uh, into unstructured data with flash blade. And again, this is another area where it's really hard for me to not spill the beans. But we have a major expansion of flash blade that we're announcing today. This next generation of flash blade. The original flash blade really focused on high performance on structured data.
37:48
This uh, this version of flash player is gonna cover unstructured data across extraordinarily wide range of performance. It's incredibly scalable. It's incredibly price effective. It is going to cover the entire ground of unstructured data that that enterprises need as they go forward and expand in this area. And what's really exciting is it's available today.
38:12
It's gone ge last week. This is not something that's a year down the road. This is something that's available more. So right now. So what I'd like you to do though is stay tuned. We're gonna have some great speakers. We've got Ajay Singh, we've got Amy, we've got matt, we've got murli Prakash will be coming up speaking more about
38:31
about pure as a service. We've got somebody coming up. So this is going to be a great fun. Uh, and look forward to. Uh looking. I'll be here with you listening to it myself. So, this has all been, I have to say in many ways inspired by you. When I first came on board,
38:50
we largely had one product. Um, and I'd ask for feedback. And the feedback was, you know, unlike many places, I've been in my life uniformly good. Uh, and when I asked what more we could do, they said, Well, you only really cover about 10% of our product needs would be great if you could bring
39:08
these same capabilities to other areas that that we that we as a customer, you know, that we buy data storage and management from. So really, you did inspire us and, you know, you reward our innovation with, you know, a great NPSU rewarded by becoming bigger customers by becoming new customers. Uh, and you can't imagine the pride and the passion that this inspires in our team.
39:35
They really, they really get very, especially at things like this, you know, I want to thank you all. You really inspire a lot of passion in our team and I want to thank you for making us your trusted partner in this. Um It's really something that you know being able to work together to build a better environment to uh uh to build better products, you know,
39:55
is something that that we very much appreciate. You know at pure we take great pride in making hard things simple and I couldn't help but you don't notice that our friends, you know down the way here that are super protected and brought in extra security for us that they excel in making simple things hard but uh sorry about that. Um but we focus on making hard things uh simple
40:24
and you know we're very fortunate to be working with such great customers and partners uh to uh you know power power your data and help you to use that data to power your growth. Alright so speaking of um innovation, we have some um innovation awards. Uh We've got what we call breakthrough award winners uh and we're really delighted to celebrate them today and I were recognizing pure customers that have really put a lot of
40:52
time and effort to use data to improve their world or their customers world. They've blazed, you know, a digital path to digital transformation. Uh and they're very much focused on the future and really they should um they inspire us at pure, they should really inspire us all. So with that I'd like to congratulate barclays folding at home for ford motor company K. D. D. I.
41:19
The Mississippi Department of revenue and serious uh Sirius XM. Now for those of the people that are attending virtually, you'll be able to break out and find them on our on the website that you're using and for those of you that are alive, they're going to be um in our pavilion here right behind you and you'll be able to see. And they'll be explaining uh you know, how they're using uh data service and management to
41:46
create a better world for themselves and for their customers. Okay. Moving on. Um you know, in in closing uh we do want to complicate your your data storage and management forever. And as I said, not just for the I. T. Organization but for your developers,
42:05
for your finance organization, for the people in your organization that are concerned with E. S. G. You know, an environmental impact. You know, for us, we think that innovation is not a buzzword. We invest serious money uh in innovating each and every year for us, you know, simplicity. Making things simple is not easy.
42:26
It really is hard work. It's it's easy to make things hard, it's hard to make things easy. So it's one of our founding principles, you know, cause that you saw up there from very focused on said, I don't need a manual for an iphone, why should I need a manual for data storage and that's carried on to this day.
42:47
Evergreen for us isn't services. Evergreen is part of our overall design philosophy making, allowing you, once you buy a product or use a product that it's new all the time without without disruption. And then finally for us now, sustainability isn't a slogan. You know, we're not gonna green wash this, it's corridor, a design philosophy.
43:09
We really want to build product that just use less energy, right? You can go out and you know, and by, um, you know, carbon credits and all of that. But the, but you get to the very basis of what makes the world better using less energy using less parts having a lower footprint, you can't beat that, that's where,
43:27
that's where it all starts. And I'll just come back to the fact that, you know, at Pure, we play a different game than the rest of the industry for us storage. Uh, data storage and management is high technology, it's worthwhile of serious investment. It's not a commodity.
43:44
And if you want a commodity, there are plenty of vendors that provide that. But at pure, we're gonna continue investing as if it's high technology, our team works really quite tirelessly on this, on benefits of simplicity. We do want to un complicate your world and we look forward to doing it today and continuing to do this with you for many years in the future.
44:05
And I look forward to be getting uh I look forward to getting together with you repeatedly to hear from you how we can do a better job each and every day.
